I don't know what's wrong with me lately, but I've been writing and deleting posts like nobody's business. It's really out of character for me, because, contrary to popular belief, MOST of my posts take me awhile to hammer out, so it's not likely that I'm going to delete something I just worked on for an hour.
(It might or might not take me that long to write a post because I'm easily distracted by google searching and shiny objects. Allegedly. Whatever.)
Anyhoodle. I've been deleting posts. Unpublished ones, of course.
I don't know why, exactly.
(I said that already. But see, that's what happens when I do a stream-of-consciousness post instead of one that's heavily edited.)
I'll speculate on it though since today is Saturday and I have to post because it's NaBloPoMotherOfGodWhyDidIAgreeToDoThisAgain.
I've been writing this blog for two years, and it's evolved from me just randomly bitching about whatever was on my mind at the time to a very half-hearted theme week scenario to limitless stories about how my second marriage is LIGHT YEARS more entertaining than my first (albeit slightly dysfunctional in a loving way) to a mix of all three that is something I think I like but I'm never quite sure.
And since my Google Friend count has creakily yet steadily increased, I'm going to assume you all like The Tia Show.
(Yeah yeah, I know, when you assume you make an ass out of... well, probably just me. I can live with that.)
Sometimes, though, when I look back at the last couple posts at any given time, I think to myself "What would someone think of me if they just stumbled upon my blog?" Lots of you have been reading here for a long time so you know that I am not ALL bullshit and big hair, but I'm sure I can probably come across like that if you don't really know me.
Wouldn't be the first time, anyway, on this blog or in real life.
Yes, everything on this blog is true, and no, I don't make anything up. Couldn't if I tried. Wouldn't. You can't sarcastically self-deprecate yourself if you're not in it for real.
(Plus, it's not fun that way. Nobody makes fun of me as well as I do.)
I would like to state, for the record, though, that beyond all of the vapid vampire fandom and catty couture obsession is a girl who eats poetry for breakfast, wishes on rockstars, craves indie art and film noir, has a dark place or two in her head where nostalgia rules and hindsight can't even begin to fix, and thinks music really can save your soul.
There are two sides to every coin and I think mine is weighted.
Both are true but one is easier.

It's not what you write about, it's how you write. So no matter what post someone comes across they'll think... "oh, she's funny and sharp."
Seriously.. don't worry about it.
Hiya! I've been reading your blog for a while now and felt it's high time that I actually comment.
I stumbled upon your blog months ago and the first post I ever read was 'step away from the vampire' - I promptly started following you. You wrote the same thing that I thought when I saw those pics.
And honestly, I don't think that anyone could read your blog regularly if it was all just 'vapid vampire fandom and catty couture obsession'. The other side of you does come through - and I'd say that's why you have so many followers (2353 - WOW!)
I BEYOND love this post.
I think I stumbled upon your blog, read the first Twilight post, clicked on Follow this Blog, and have been in love with your honestly ever since. You Rock. (Just thought you should know.)
I love what you have to say, all the time. I know, you're like "all the time?" and i'm like "all the time". I never comment - because - well i don't know why. But i started reading you about a year and a half ago...and I was hooked from the first post I read. I would read you from my blackberry in bed at night at the end of the day like a short little bed-time story. Creep factor = 8 jillion. I'm aware. I hope this doesn't creat more pressure for you to bust out Awesome Posts - because they all don't have to be nobel-peace-prize worthy...you're awesome either way. I just wanted to pop in and say I think you're fantastic. Big hair and all.
That's why we all read you, you bl**dy drongo!
Said, as only an Australian can, with affection :-)
One day, when you're about to delete a post you think you're not ready to publish--post it anyway. It's remarkably freeing and you might be surprised by how many people respond to something you thought wasn't worth it. :)
Who cares what someone else thinks of you after they read your blog?
I am fairly new at this and when I found your blog I honestly that it was extremely G (G as is gangster, its a good thing).
Anyway, I like to read it. And I think thats all that matters :)
Girl, just write..
That's all :)
And I've already blown NaBloPoMo
( that sounds raunchy)
On Friday the 13th...just a coincidence..
Peace ~ Rene
It is extremely hard to accurately portray ourselves on a blog. We all choose which sides of us to expose and which sides to keep hidden. I think you do an amazing job showing a little bit of all facets.
Different people are bound to have different opinions on your words. That can sometimes be tough to accept, but I think what matters is most is how you care about the material you're putting out there. It's your little space in the world; I say do what you please. For the most part, you do a wonderful job!!
So much so that one of your posts inspired me! The post on wants was SO good, I decided to make one up for myself and linked you to it. It's only right to say thank you :)!
As long as you are SOME bulls%^t and big hair, I will keep coming back for more.
And THAT, my dear is why you have so many e-friends... even when you think it's vapid or bullshit, it's still REAL.
Your writings are mixed, Tia. I personally can see a lot of side of you adnd your insights, I love it!
You are always awesome, entertaining and sometimes even enlightening! Besides all THAT... Ya just GOTTA love a girl named Tia!
~Love ya, A Tia's Mom~
Wow, Tia, I love those last few lines! :) And I don't think you come off as superficial at all. Behind all the jokes and sarcasm we can almost always see little bits of the "real you."
I'm positive music can save your soul.
And I do very much enjoy the Tia Show.
"There are two sides to every coin and I think mine is weighted.
Both are true but one is easier."
That's what shows how truly insightful you are, what a good writer you are, and why I keep coming back.
Clever, true, and so well said.
we all have our different sides. that makes life more fun.
"What would someone think of me if they just stumbled upon my blog?"
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. It's interesting how differently our readers probably feel about us depending on when they start reading.
LOVE this post. And I adore you, but you already know that!
I am not really sure what made you want to write this to begin with. you would figure that for someone that is trying to accomplish a month of daily posts, deleting posts is a nuisance,
it is always good to know that people that you enjoy reading are just like you.
thanks for sharing.
I see my blog as a continuous work in progress. I'll read stuff that I wrote even just last month and I think, "oh my gosh, I can't believe I wrote that! I was so infantile back then!"
You have visitors, so you must be doing something right! I'm a new reader, but I like what I see so far! :)
