Unless I can't afford it, of course. Then I see, I like, and I cry. So if you're at the mall someday, and you see a girl sniffling outside of Jimmy Choo? Yeah, that's probably me.
Hubs gets mad at me when I say I can't think of anything I'd like for Christmas.
Just his love is enough.
(Haha, right. His love better come wrapped in a Marc Jacobs bag, if he knows what's good for him.)
(Just kidding. Kinda.)
(iHubs? Anyone? Anyone?)
So I present to you Tia's Wish List of Items That Better Appear Either Under the Tree or Sometime In the Next Year Otherwise She's Likely to Open a New Credit Card and Buy Them for Herself: Christmas '08 Edition.
(Joking again! Credit cards are bad news! I'll just start selling Hubs' stuff.)
The Amazon Kindle. So, if you've never heard of this, it's like a book nerd's dream come true. Basically, it's an iPod for your books, and you can download new ones right from the device, paying only the book price with no internet fee. It does a bunch of other cool stuff too. I love the idea of being able to get the new hardback-only titles for a fraction of the cost, save trees, and bring 200 books with me wherever I go. Some people may argue that the best thing about reading is the ACTUAL BOOK, but I beg to differ. I love books, and I won't stop buying them. I equate it to the iPod situation. I still buy CDs, but I ALSO download on iTunes. I like options.
Christian Dior "Day" Sunglasses. I only have one pair of decent sunglasses, and I want another. However, they fall under the category of "not likely to buy for myself." I'm not sure why. I just don't ever think about it, and instead spend my money elsewhere. Like in the shoe department.
W Magazine or
Vogue subscription. If you've never thought about getting a magazine subscription for someone, let me tell you, it's a FABULOUS gift for a reasonable price. Plus, I always bring my mags into the salon after I've read them, so it's ALSO like recycling. Right?
Thomas O'Brien Pewter Blossom Bedding. I'm coveting this duvet and sheets. Since we painted our bedroom, I've wanted to change EVERYTHING. Does wanting bedding for Christmas make me an old lady? I like to sleep in style, so what?
Nikon D40. I really want a fancy digital camera. My mom has one and it's great. I have a nice 35mm, and I LOVE it, but the price of film and, you know, TECHNOLOGY and stuff gives it a home in my closet, and instead I'm always using my little crappy digital point-and-shoot. I'm afraid to ask Hubs for it, though, because he'll buy it, and I don't want him to spend a lot of money. (I mean, I DO, but he shouldn't.)
Edward/RPattz. C'mon, that one's a given.
Anyhoodle, that's what I have so far.
I'm super excited this year about all of the gifts I'm giving, and I can't wait for Christmas to be here. It's my most favorite time of the year.
Now, if the weather will just cooperate, we'll be in business. Hello, 80 degree days? Yeah, August called and wants you back. Get the hell out of "winter."
My house is decorated, my to-buy lists are organized, and I'm looking forward to the holiday season. Well, with the exception of eggnog. That's just gross.
(Just out of curiosity, do you think Edward/RPattz could survive in a gift-wrapped box? Probably, right? I mean, vampires don't have to breathe.)
(Maybe there should be some air holes, though, just in case.)

OMG, I'm the first one to comment (or possibly not since someone may beat me to it while I type)! That's probably because it's the wee hours of the morning in the US and it's lunch time here in foggy Germany. Seriously, the fog is thick today.
I too covet the Kindle. I want one so badly I could burst. Can you imagine carrying around all those books in just 10.3 oz? Mmmmm...heaven. I'm kind of waiting for the 2nd generation though. You know, the one with the kinks worked out.
I have the Nikon D60 and HIGHLY recommend it (it's got more bells and whistles than the D40 for only slightly more money). You can check out my blog for some super awesome pics it takes (scroll down to my Welcome to Heidelberg post and you'll see some lovely shots).
Oh, and we'll have to fight over Edward/RPattz. Even though I'm older than you and old enough to be his much older sister (though, thankfully not his mom, unless I had him when I was just getting into the swing of puberty, and um, ewwww).
Love your blog.
'tis me...your faithful blog stalker!! THE KINDLE FREAKING ROCKS!!! I can't use the wireless feature here in the Netherlands, but it still ROCKS!!!! You should totally get one of these things, and since Oprah endorsed it, the price has dropped a bit...
Nikon D40, that would make a cool gift!
Hope you'll get all this stuff. But again if you get it, there'll be nothing to put on the next year list :)
Yeah, I've been spying that Kindle myself for quite some time. Then Oprah went and mentioned it so it's going to be extremely popular for some time (till the knock-offs start coming).
And I love those cameras! I have a regular digital and always wanted to take it up a notch, too!
I still stick with books because I may be mocking you if I saw that Kindle in your hands.
I think your list if funny and hopefully you'll get something nice. Did you really cry outside Jimmy Choo about not wanting anything? Are you kidding me? I would have told my husband "give my your credit card and you'll get the bill next month, don't worry"
You're not old for wanting new bedding...I'm 18 and I've been thinking about that... lol.
Great post!
That Nikon D40 has been on my list for awhile now. I think I am going to have to break down and buy it for myself!!
Dude! I've been dying for the Kindle too! I'm hoping the second gen comes out soon. I'm a total book nerd and I hate scarfing down food at work while trying to hold my book pages down.
I'm in a similar conundrum with my boy friend. I got his present already but I don't really have anything I want from him. (with the exception of really expensive things he should not buy)
I've had my D40 for over a year now, and I still love it. It freakin' rocks. I've mostly retireed my three 35mm's in favor of it.
I want the D90 now tho. 12.3 megapixel, and 720 HD video @ 24 frames per sec....sigh
T.
Can you clone vampires?
They should make Edward ornaments. He could just sparkle and tinkle on the tree, look all moody and deep.
Wanting bedding does not make you an old lady. Or at least, I hope not, because I want bedding too. And also a garlic press and a coffee grinder.
Edward/RPattz?? hehehe
he will cost me two life time savings.. but it is all on you if you can wait ;)
Have I been in a hole or what? I read lots of books, and have had to replace a purse (or three) because the weight of the books has broken the straps (not that I mind new-purse-shopping...clearly). Where the hell have I been, not knowing about the Kindle???!?!??!?
Although, I'm one who loves having the actual books....although I would love to save trees...but I do always give the books I buy to my local library when I'm done...arrrghhhh!
What to do? What to do?
Both?
I'll trade you my 5-degree December days for your 80-degree December days! Pretty please??
All I want for Christmas is to be in 80 degree weather....it's friggin' 30 in good ol' Nebraska, with 125% chance of snow over the next day or so...
Wanna trade??
Amen on the egg nog thing. Yuck.
Oh Tia, how you make me giggle...
What?!?! you don't like eggnog?! I looove it. I wanna try it with some alcohol :P But NOOO. I have to be SIXTEEN. Wah.
-not legal-

Ive had my eye, ok both eyes, ears, and pocket on the Kindle for a while. Not sure if I'll go for it yet, but perhaps in time. :)
As a wedding gift, my husband gave me the Nikon D90. Way more camera than I need, but it takes amazing pictures. We have friends who have the D40 and rave about it. Good call on the wish list!
I've been wanting a Kindle for the longest time, but my present retail therapy has left me somewhat broke.
Try downloading an app from your iphone. I downloaded one called Stanza and it's free. It's just like an ereader (such as the kindle) if your looking for a quick fix until you get that Kindle of yours. The books cost money, but the program is absolutely free. Best of all, you can use it on the iphone.
I want a kindle so stinkin bad and I'll take a side order of Edward Cullen!
I want the kindle. It's not a normal request though because I have the Sony e-reader. It is just not as cool as the Kindle.
So like a little brat, I have something close but I still want the dang kindle.
I agree with you on the camera and Edward/RPattz. Also, you can have my winter and snow, and I'll take your 80 degree weather. what do ya say?
hi, if ever someone wiLL give you Edward/Robert Pattinson as a gift for Christmas. Can i borrow him for a whiLe? haha
even just for a day.
Share your bLessings.
LoLs
:)
i also want to have a camera, but nothing specific. I'm really not into material things but we have the same wish about Robz! hehe
Are you kind enough to give him to me? hehehe (in my dreams)
Can I just say..that that little smile that Edward gives in that scene...as in the picture you posted????
Ay-Yi-Yi-Yi-Yi!!! Rowr!!! Yowza!! (If I knew how to type a purr giving it the full effect, I would).
I want him for Christmas too.
mmmmrobpattinson. he's on my christmas list too. le swoon.
Nice list... but yeah you probably should open some air holes in the RZ package... and hide it from Hubs... in case he gets terretorial...LOL
And since you brought it up... could you send me an IHubs... I really really want it... xD
I neeeeeeed the Kindle. And more than that, I neeeeed Edward Cullen. That's a serious need, I'll have you know!! :)
Nice List, hahahah...
Greetings from the Philippines!
Hey... Just wanted to let you know that thanks to you and a friend of mine... I'm a HUGE Twilight fan... And I've discovered something that I'm not sure you've heard about yet since I haven't read it in your blog... You can read it on my latest blog! Enjoy! :)
Can't go wrong with that camera. I'd be ecstatic if that showed up under my christmas tree.
OMG. Tia, i'd go for wish #1...but can you send it to me? Pleaseeeeee..... :)
I love your wishlist, espeically item 5 - I have a D80 and it's the BOMB!!! I love, love, LOVE it! It makes me so happy, I'll never need another man in my life again. Until the right one comes my way.
Good luck with number 6...
Wow! It's great to see so much dedication and effort put into a blog. I have to say as a new blogger I am inspired! Keep up the good work. JM
I love the idea of the Kindle. I just wonder how much use I would actually give it. I am very picky about text so if the text isn't just right I probably wouldn't use it. I wish I could "test drive" it.
HAHAHAHA!! Your wish list is better than mine. You go girl! I hope you get what you ask for.
I have a Nikon D80 an it's pretty much my love. If you don't get one for Christmas, check Amazon.com for some deals.
Whatever you pay, it's worth the cost.
Like "Mama." said, you should just get the Stanza app for the iPhone. I'm all for Amazon, but seriously, why get that big Kindle thing when you can do the same on a gadget you already carry?! I'm all about conserving purse space.
love your wish list and love your blog!
You have to get the kindle! i have it and it's amazing! you'd love it too...i also recommend you read the book The Host by Stephanie Meyer. no vampires, but a good love story all the same.
I'm a Canon girl, i have the 30D and love it! it's really about the lenses you have though not the camera so you can't go wrong.
I'll have to look into those sunglass on your wish list. I've been eyeing a pair of Oliver Peoples and can't wait until the store opens in Fashion Valley Mall!
you're hilarious! love it!
Sony makes a book reader as well. I read a lot at work, it would be nice to have all of my books (or at least most of them) safely ensconced in a book reader suck as the Kindle. I would still have to have the actual 'Book' though.
I LOVE your blog and your easy and enjoyable style.
I thought this pose was really amusing but i HATE the Kindle.
Check out my Kindle post if you have time.
