Delurk-a-rama.

Here at CGGB, we march to the beat of our own drummer. We don't follow the crowd.

(Unless that crowd is headed to the Twilight premiere, and then sign us up!)

(And when I say "we", I'm assuming I just mean me. And maybe the dog.)

Anyhoodle, since we are SO non-conformist, we are going to declare today DELURKING DAY!

**streamers, whistles, ticker tape parades, flower-laden floats**

I know you guys are out there.

And I want to hear what you have to say. Because if you're reading, you're important to me.

(And if you're not reading, you should be. Why aren't you reading?)

So if you've never commented, please do so. And if you comment already, please continue to do so! Like, right now. On this post.

To further celebrate the festivities of DELURKING DAY, there will be a random drawing for THREE $15 Amazon.com giftcards for a few lucky DELURKING DAY winners, with some other random knickknack-y stuff I find around my house potentially thrown in.

(Salad tongs? Anyone? A DELURKING DAY/Ikea commemorative coaster?)

(And yes, I just really like typing DELURKING DAY. It's my blog, I do what I want.)

Basically, I'm doing this because you guys are awesome. You motivate me when I can't motivate myself, and as a struggling fledgling aspiring writer, that is KEY. So I want to pay it forward, to say thanks for reading. Cuz really, it means the world that you take time out of your day to read about mine.

So. DELURK! Or, you know, comment. BUT DO IT!

You have until midnight PST on Friday the 14th to enter. Only one comment per person will count.

Let the games begin!

Me first! Than the others.

I must say, I find your blog fascinating! Honestly, truly, swear on Edward Cullen!

I found your blog via another blog I read daily. And now I'm more hooked on your blog than any other.

You write like I think. I'm not a writer, no where even close. So when I read your blog, I think to myself "Oh my god! That's exactly what I would want/have said!"

I also love that your as obsessed about Twilight as I am. Hopefully tomorrow I will be blessed with the opportunity to meet the handsome-oh-so-dreamy Robert Pattinson. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Keep up the phenomenal writing. I'm addicted faithfully.

I thought Delurking Day was tomorrow, good thing I stopped by. Your blog is the bizomb and deliciously sarcastic...love it. =)

Ben said...

Is there an official delurking day? Not that I lurk. I'm more of an in-your-face-let's-talk-for-hours kind of reader.

JenBun said...

Does it count as delurking if you can never get me to shut up?!?

Here I am! Hooray!!! Parades! Flowers! LOVE!!!

I want to win-- are you going to make people buy Twilight books, if they win the giftcards?

If I see that you gave away ANY presents I've ever given to you...

BrazenBareToe said...

Delurking for the sake of winning stuff! Wow, that is fun to type. Delurking, delurking, delurking. Ok I'm done now. I read your blog all the time but don't know if I've ever commented before so here's my first. Keep with it girl you are a hoot!

Jamie said...

Not delurking. Just love you and ahd to say it again <3

I'm not sure if I have ever commented on your blog...but either way, I like your blog!

I support Delurking Day! I also love Edward Cullen. Not so sure about Robert Pattinson as Edward though....guess we'll see on Nov 21. Not that I've already preordered my tickets or anything. Yes, there will be a group of young professional women in the sea of teenage girls. I can't wait to see it.

i could say this in sweeter, more articulate words, but basically you're the bomb.
and every time i complain to, well, everyone i come in contact with, that i need a hair cut, but i'm to lazy to find a new hairdresser, i'm always all 'TIA WOULD CUT MY HAIR BEAUTIFULLY'.

Bonnie said...

Okay, delurking now. I love your writing and the way you post about a lot of real, deep stuff that I would be too cowardly to put out there, but you also have fun with your blog and post about TV shows and your teenage notes to yourself.

Delurking... love that I feel like we could be friends because of CGGB but not in that creepy lurking sort of way so I'm now delurking :-)

Ok, I'll admit it. I've lurked. You're witty and funny and sarcastic - everything I'm not! I'm living my blog life vicariously through you! :)

Recently found you and your blog, and in an effort not to be a Lurker -- here's my comment!

I'm enjoying reading thoughts from another someone out there who likes to read and isn't necessarily a wiz in the kitchen! And you know what? You might *just* make me read Twilight if you keep blogging about it! ;)

lauren said...

been reading for awhile, but this is my first comment! love your blog and the delurking intiative! :)

Last year there was an official delurking day...now I can't remember when that was. Maybe someone made it up..hmmm....I'm onto you!

and i am afraid to admit, that once or twice, i have stolen (jump back) your word, CLEARLY! for my theft, i am sorry. i have chosen a new word.... its called, SURELY. LOL

Tia.. should i be the winner of a giftcard.. i promise here and now.. that Twilight will be the book that i purchase! i've read your blogs on it and how you wish hubs was a vampire.. i saw the clip on myspace.. and yes. the curiousity is killing me!

have you seen a TV show on HBO.. its called True Blood.. yes. my twin sister has it on Tivo or whatever the equivalent is for DirecTv.. yes yes.. it is fabulous! in a nutshell, its Vampires + today 2008 + Anna Paquin + great cast = AWESOME! i am hooked. my life has become one strange obsession after the other.

hbo.com has clips and all that jazz.

THANKS FOR THE DOPE BLOGS.. i will stay tuned!

For just a second I thought you said "deTurking" and I thought it might be some weird new thanksgiving tradition you were espousing!!

Aaahh, so now I see its delurking! That I can do!

I think I've left a comment before, not sure? I've been reading for awhile, but honestly, I am horrible at leaving comments!

I am sadly STILL only on the 3rd page of Book 2 in the Twilight series. I need time to get into it, and that hasn't happened yet! Loved the first one though!

Sas said...

So I've heard all about this so-called Twilight(you can't flip through bumper stickers on Facebook at 3AM without hitting at least one Twilight sticker each pageful)....but I've been living on this Blasted Rock for 7+ months now and have no idea what it is beyond a book. Synopsis for those of us beyond the range of American comforts?

Fantastic blog, you write the dichotomy of women/men well. Wow, I just used the word Dichotomy in a sentence. Properly. I think I'll end on that high note. Keep on providing me the perfect distraction from studies! :)

(and thanks for letting me share some of your wisdom on my blog...)

Don't worry, Tia.. only TEN MORE DAYS until us Twilight junkies get our visual Edward Cullen fix. I'm trying very hard not to pay any attention to reviews...

Aleta said...

I don't lurk, posted a number of times. Your blog is entertaining with a style of writing that seems as though you're having a conversation with the blogger, which I think is great!

What fun - a delurking day. I might have to give that a try one day.

Tova Darling said...

I read you faithfully, and I think you're pretty great! Stop by my blog anytime, we'll grab some Starbucks and chat.

Also, I just finished the second book in the Twilight series, so do NOT discuss anything past the second book, or I will totally lurk without commenting. I MEAN it! :)

Okay fine. Consider me DELURKED (I so didn't know what a lurker was before this post, by the way, thanx for the clarification)

Your blog is awesome-love it! (you already know this but reminders are nice, yes?) One of the reasons I love your blog (I'm repeated another comment) is that you totally write how I think think, you're just way more articulate than I...

I will totally read your book when you're published!(you will-I'm convinced) Keep doing what your doing!

I lurk and don't think I've ever posted, if so, oh well what's it going to hurt to "delurk" today. I love the sarcastic tone your blog tends to have b/c it's FABULOUS! You're blog make me laugh and for that I thank you! Also, you've almost got me convinced that reading Twilight should be my Thanksgiving vacation project. Thanks!

Melissa said...

Okay, I'll delurk too Tia. I have been following your blog for awhile now and I love it! I was sooo happy you mentioned Twilight because I, too, read them only because of peer-pressure and am now 100% obsessed! ugh, it's so frustrating. In fact, if I do win an Amazon gift certificate, I plan to buy the 4 book set (please random-drawing gods, pick me, PICK ME!!!). I've already set aside some of my birthday money from last week for the purchase so really this would be perfect.

Keep up the great writing, because, you know, entertaining me is always so important :)

count me in! although i won't promise i'll buy the twilight series if i win a gift card (i'm living under a rock obviously and didn't even know there was a book series out much less a movie! omg!) but i WOULD buy myself something awesome to read or i'd by my cute 9 month old daughter something fun to read to her.
and yes... i also like your post :) you remind me somewhat of my sister.

Mrs. S. said...

I would say I am a semi-lurker...oh well. Great blog even if I've never read a word of Twilight nor do I plan on seeing the movies but I read Perez Hilton so I understand the obsession :)

I hope you went back to Old Navy and got that price adjustment!

Amanda said...

I'm definitely a lurker. Part of it is that I have so many blogs in my google reader its hard to keep up reading not to mention leaving comments. I love reading your blog for many reasons including our shared Twilight obcession. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now thanks to you. I bought it the same day you posted about it.

Princess Sparkle Pants said...

I don't know if I've commented before, but I do read, because I think you are cute, and then there are the polka dots. I'm all about the polka dots. So, yeah. De-lurked!

Happy Delurking day!
Keep up the awesome writing!

Brianna said...

I'm not really delurking, as I've commented before....but you instructed us, the masses, so we MUST follow! (clearly)

BTW, thanks a lot for getting me hooked on the Twilight Series. I've now read 1 & 2, and am feeling withdrawals since I'm too poor to buy the third until I get paid on Friday....dammit! Oh my hubs sarcastically thanks you too, because when I'm not hooked to watching my favorite TV shows, my nose is lost in the books.....I think he's starting to miss me, because I was able to convince him to go see the movie when it opens:) (But, hey, he gets to play Madden 09 while I read...so it's fair right?)

Karen said...

Hi Tia,

I started following your blog when it was dubbed noteworthy by blogger. I'm hooked. What can I say? You're like Carrie Bradshaw, except that you write about things that interest me. :-) In fact, I enjoy reading your blog so much that I've gotten a lot more dedicated to writing my own, and have been trying hard to make it more interesting. Will never be as good as yours, I admit, but at least it gives me something to do whilst I wait for you to post something else.

(Not that I spend all my time waiting for your newest post. I do have a life. I promise.)

We are in a serious disagreement over something, however. I finished reading Twilight and I wish Bella had chosen Mike Newton. At least he had something going for him and could give her a definite future instead of an ambiguous forever.

Anyway, thanks for declaring it delurking day. Perhaps I'll comment again sometime...

Kimberley said...

ok, ok so I'm OUTING myself so to speak! I'm coming out of them ummm....blogger closet.

Anyway ..... you outed me! xx

I think I commented on your Vet's Day post and that was my real first comment. But what the heck. Can I be a born again blog lurker simply for the purpose of delurking myself?

I like to read your blog because you're my age and I can identify with a lot of the stuff that you write about (not to say that I can't identify with bloggers who are older than me - but it's nice to hear things from the perspective of a fellow 20-something). Plus you're hilarious.

hollylynn said...

i've been wanting to do this on my blog too since the number of hits i get doesn't match up to the comments at all...but then i might have 150 comments from my mom each day. *sigh*

anyway, really love your blog. i admire how candid you are. and you're hilarious.

OK...I've been lurking for a couple of months now. I read all of your past entries in one day when I stumbled upon your blog! You are a compelling writer and a wonderful story teller!

I love Twilight by the way...well Breaking Dawn was upsetting, but we won't get into that here.

I would invite you to read my personal blog if you are interested, but it is on private. However, if you do want to know what life is like for a 19 year old girl living in Wyoming, I'll invite you!

Thanks for being a great blogger. Love your posts!

I've been reading your blog for about 2 months now. As a fledgling writer myself, I find reading your blog comforting. I had actually just finished reading the Twilight series about a week or two before you started posting about it. I was addicted to, but as a writer, I urge you to take another look. While the story was ADDICTING, the more I look back the more I am dissatisfied with Stephanie Meyers actual writing. Just food for thought.

Fine, FINE, I'll comment (finally!) I (like many others) found your blog when it was featured on "blogs of note" and was instantly hooked. You remind me of myself, your history of dating musicians, going to shows, then "settling down" is like, my life. I admire your wit and humor in dealing with everyday subjects and almost daily you seem to write about something I'm going through. Are we the same person!?

Pam said...

Hey -
I absolutely LOVE your blog. Yours was the first one that I ever subscribed to and can't wait to read every single day.

Your funny, insightful, say things that I wish I could say out loud, and just plain awesome.
Keep up the amazing work.

P.S. I am buying my Twilight tickets tonight, but I am getting it for the latest show possible that way all the little teenagers can't be there (they have curfew - suckers). I am even forcing Hubby to come with me.

RoseNoel01 said...

Shucks - we've been outed. It's like we've all been standing in the shadows, but suddenly you're insisting that we flick on the light...

Darn it.

When you were featured on the Google Reader/Blogger list, I randomly clicked. Now, I wait impatiently for updates and do an internal happy dance when it tells me you've posted. (That said, I'm now a huge fan of NaBloWriMo.)

You've added the word "clearly" to my vocabulary.

Everything you write about Hubs gets forwarded to my unsuspecting husband, who is now petrified that I will follow suit and open up my blog to the public. (I let him think it purely because the deer-in-the-headlights look is so darn cute.)

(And it keeps him in check.)

Start writing your chick-lit novel, please. I need to buy it.

As a blogger myself, I float around looking for other bloggers who write about things that interest them, and who have an interesting "voice." Fortunately for me, your blog was a Blog of Note. Thus began my lurking.

Your parenthetical style is so much like the way I think and talk (but not so much how I write (though I have)) that I enjoy reading it.

I appreciate bloggers like you who endeavor to write frequently. I get a kick out of seeing a new "this is my life" viewpoint when it's well written and engaging, and your is. I don't identify much with the specifics -- you and I are in very different places in life -- but you write about it well, so I keep coming back.

I'll likely go back to lurking, but I'll be reading. Keep it up!

You know what I love? This blog. And your constant use of parentheticals. There's nothing I love more than funny statements in round brackets.

Not even free gift cards.

No, really.

Love the blog for so many reasons (that can be succinctly summarized into one word: you), despite its overly pink layout (hey, it is what it is, and it's kind of calming in its dottiness) and your love of Twilight (I'm working on overcoming such prejudices).

And while on one hand we're very different ladies...there's something about the honesty of your writing, the playfulness of your words, that keeps me coming back to see what Tia has to say today.

And yes, I too am in lust with Edward Cullen. I mean please...how could you not be! The longing. The sexual tension. The thought of his cold touch. And I'm only 1/2 way though the first book!

Delurked!

Jennie said...

Okay so everyone says they found your blog one way or another- I think it was on the front page saying recently updated. All I know is its the only one I clicked on and I loved it so much I didnt go anywhere else!!
Yep, CGGB is enough for me!
Yay CGGB! and Yay Delurking Day!

Natalie said...

I'm a lurker, I admit it. Is that so wrong?? I love your blog and I'm especially excited that your NaBloPoMoing it this month so we can all get a little bit of Tia every day.

I understand why you typed out Delurking so many times. Just saying the word "Delurking" is like playing with a tasty hard candy in your mouth. You can twirl it this way and then it goes that way. It's fun!! Delurking.
I've come, I've delurked, now I'm gone...

Brandi said...

I've been reading your blog since it was a Blog of Note. Though, I'm not really a commentor. Its always interesting. One of the few blogs that can keep my attention. Happy De-lurking Day. I have finally delurked.

I am soooo addicted to Twilight too!! Keep up the great work!

I'm delurking! I'm older than most of your readers, probably but I love your blog - my teenaged daughter and I read you faithfully!

Thanks for the entertainment!

I love your blog! I love reading about just the random things in your life, and it helps me to feel okay about writing about the random things in my life. Maybe no one finds them interesting...but I enjoy writing about them!

Ally B said...

I love your blog... really, I do. I'm not just saying that in the hopes that flattery will help me win a prize... because I'm sure you're above that, oh wise one (there's that flattery again... I'm so subtle... I'm like a flattery wizard...).

I'm also newly unemployed and could really use a prize (I hear guilt works just as well as flattery).

But I really do love your blog.

Sie Erfasst Mein Herz said...

Oof... The shame of the lurking lurker I am... But no more!! (or 'more'.. because here I am... or... ugh, I've confused myself)

I love your blog, I read it everyday (or I do this month anyway =P) and I love Twilight to pieces... You're so lucky, I have to wait until the end of December before I get to see the movie! (we're incredibly backward here in merry ol' England...)

Anyways... I have de-lurked and now I must depart :-)

Marie said...

I just stopped by to see what CGGB stands for. It sounds so close to CBGB's. That's hip!

Tia, I really hope you talk the way you write. That would just be too wonderful! And, if you needed anything to make you keep writing, please know that sometimes your blog is the bright spot in my very boring day of chasing my children around the house.

BTW - you will tell us when you find out you are pregnant, right? Because, you know, we deserve to know.

Happy Delurking Day!

Tori said...

Oh to be at the place where if I had a delurking day I could actually know I'd get some comments because I could know people were lurking!! :-D I've read your blog almost every day since I found it shortly after it was featured. Marvelous job! Keep writing!

~*Jenn*~ said...

I read! I don't like you because you're funnier than me, and I like your blog more than mine. Kidding. I found your blog through, Hmm... I think maybe Twenty Something Bloggers? Let's go with that. And I was like 'Dayum, I don't want to link to her, then my two readers will abandone me once they figure out out I'm not funny. Clearly' But I linked anyway, I think I still have two readers... maybe.

I'm a daily reader, and therefor, a daily lurker? I'll start commenting, I just gave a speech last week on my blog about how it's so beneficial when people comment, and then I totally don't comment. Hmm... do as I say and not as I do, anyone?

Keep up the excellent blogging Tia, or I'll have nothing to read!

i am a total delurker. but i have noticed lately that i lot of people who read your blog, read ours and to be in the even the same thought process as 'clever girl goes blog' delights me to no end. thanks for the kick-ass blogging!

Ficklechic said...

Tia is cool. I accidently found her from another blog right as she had been discovered through blogs of note, and have secretly stalked her blog ever since... but I guess thats not a secret anymore. I love what she has to say. CGGB is like coffee, almost, without it my day is a little less complete.
Thanks Tia, for being so... You!
CHEERS :o)

I don't know what delurking means (I guess I'm just not up to all the blogger lingo yet...but just you wait!), so here is your comment instead.

I love your blog, been reading is since it came up as blog of note a while back and really inspired me to do my own blogging :) Keep up the good work!

I'm new to blogging, and I happened upon your blog the first week I started mine. I've been checking in daily ever since. You remind me of myself 5 or 6 years back. This of course means that by 2013, if all goes horribly awry, you will be me. Good luck with that...

I'm a lurker not so much a DElurker. So you may think that I am just coming out of "lurker mode" so I can win a prize...and that is completely true.

I really do love your blog though. You express so eloquently what I think so many people feel. I have been able to relate to so many of your posts and I love the sarcastic flair that comes out every once and awhile! Keep posting because I love reading!

You know, I'm really starting to feel convicted to read Twilight. I actually own the first one. I just wish I had the time. I'll promise not to see the movie until I do read it though. However long that may be. Hopefully only a few weeks more.
Great job on keeping up with NaBloPoMO by the way. I tried, and failed miserably. But I am doing NaNoWriMo, which I must say I feel like you should be doing too. What's with that?
Anyway, thanks for posting, as usual.

Tia. You are fantastic. I found your blog in September when you were featured as one of the "Blogs of Note", and I've been reading you ever since. I'm sorry, I had NO IDEA I was being a lurker! Having tried (and failed) to start a blog myself, I don't know much about how the whole thing works. I enjoy your blog very much, (being a sarcastic individual as well) and your writing style is refreshingly honest, at times quite poignant, at times downright hysterical. Consider me delurkified!

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to come clean...about the lurking that is.

I've been reading your blog for a while and enjoying it immensely. Sometimes when I can't think of anything to write on my own I throw in the towel and laugh (usually - except when you get serious) at what you've posted. And I get a wee bit nervous when you've said nothing new.

I didn't realize how bad I had gotten. But isn't step 1 admitting the problem.

So thanks...I think.
