Hello, internets!
This week is super duper crazy with vacation prep and clients that "OMG I CANNOT wait until you get back, I need my roots done now!!!", but I promise that I will have a real post for you ASAP.
(Or, you know, when I feel like it.)
(I kid, I kid! Real post tomorrow. Today? I dunno. My house is the new Bermuda Triangle. It's Crazytown, yo.)
However, I am forgoing sleep at this very minute in order to tell you a short Hubs story.
Yesterday, Hubs was in the dog house.
I was tired of his Eeyore-y attitude and general crankiness, and I told him so. He said he was sorry, but I know the drill. "I'm sorry" means that he's only kind of sorry, and mainly because he knows I will relentlessly remind him of the many, many ways I've been wronged until he apologizes, and he doesn't want to have to hear it.
(Hubs, while not outwardly devious, has a small streak of something tricky that can only be described as "survival instinct.")
Anyway, I think that he thought about his crabby behavior over the past few days, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, realized that I had a point.
So, to prove his undying and in fact, flourishing love for me, he came home today with a gift. A bribe, if you will.
(Once again, Hubs is not a scientist, but he's no fool. We are about to embark on an ENTIRE WEEK of togetherness with NUMEROUS opportunities for me to corner him and lament about how Eeyore makes a lousy party guest.)
To show his devotion to our marriage, and to shut me up, he bought me this:

Oh Hubs, how I love thee.
He knew that my old iPod took a crap, and he wanted me to have a new one for our vacation.
Sweet, sweet, manipulative, crafty Hubs. He also knows that if I'm listening to music, I WON'T be TALKING.
Maybe I don't give him enough credit. The man is clearly a genius.
**P.S. Hey readers! Am I on your blogroll? If so, I would really appreciate it if you'd update the link to www.clevergirlgoesblog.com since I recently acquired the domain! Thank you for your continued support of my quest for total world domination. Hugs, Tia.**

haha wonderful post as always. and congrats with the new iPod. your husband really must be a genius (: and ipods are of course love.
just wanted to say that I added you to my bloglist :) so if you've nothing better to do, feel free to stop by my blog and have a look. it's not very interesting, but it's something ;)
Ah! Incredible! Enjoy your vacation and eeyore less- music filled joyous time together!
Have a nice vac. I love your posts. I added you yesterday and I was thrilled to see you posted another. Like Martha, stop by my blog sometime.
Its good that hubs knows when he has overdone it.
bwahaha! awesome!
have fun!
Bribes work both ways. I have the same one and love it. You can block out the Eeyore behavior while rocking out to 80's music. What a way to vacation. Have a blast
Have fun on your vacation! Enjoy the ipod too. I can't imagine life without mine.
iPods - they're the new diamonds (c:
can I just say LOL I love your blog why hav I only just came across this I love your wit!!! thx for makin me smile !!
enjoy ur holiday!!
dxx
Ha. My Ex-fiance bought me an engagement ring and an ipod when he proposed. The thought was there, but it seemed like the ipod could have waited and the ring could have used that money :)
I loved it anyway, but it is always funny to note that the ring is in the drawer, but the ipod still plays an important part in my life. Have fun on vacation!
The way to my heart is TOTALLY through an iPod. Smart guy.
Isn't nice when guys show that they can be smart sometimes!!
Have fun on your vacay!!
Eeyore ~ I love this description - gives the full impact without having to go into the details. Too cute. And he does sound like a smart man!
Love the Eeyore reference - that sounds so familiar! He does sound like a pretty smart cookie. Least you got something out of the deal!
Oh my, it's beautiful! Your husband is obviously a very clever man.
Are our husbands related? It sounds like they were cut from the same mold... saying "sorry" just to avoid me bringing up every gunnysacked wrongdoing in the past 7 years. Although... I've never gotten an Ipod to make up. I'm going to print this out and leave it on the counter.... subtle?
Don't feel bad! I was bought for a mere $19.99. The Boyfriend and I had a fight a few weeks age, and after we made up he gave me the SATC movie that just came out on DVD b/c he knew I wanted it.
I already forgave him, but the present did remove the last tiny bit of resentment I was still harboring.
Have fun on your vacation!
Aw how sweet... yours buys you music (which you clearly love) mine buys clothing... and believe it or not... is VERY VERY good at it! I say we are lucky women Tia, what do you think? *grin* Keep the humorous posts coming! I can count on you to add a smile to my day!
enjoy yr vacation and the music too...clever man guess he knows that music is the food of love...lol...
"Eeyore," that's great lol.
congrats on the domain! it's a neat feeling.
Anyway, just wanted to kiss up and say I just recently discovered your blog, looove your "voice" and well, haha, if you want to know what life with kids might be like (I read your previous entry about trying for kids soon), I just started a blog at http://masochistofthree.blogspot.com.
/shameless plug
But really, enjoy that vacation and your new iPod. Just a bit of advice, though: don't put it in the wash. They're not machine washable *innocent*
He also knows that if I'm listening to music, I WON'T be TALKING.
Priceless! LOL!
He's good at bribing! I love electronics!
He is a genius! (in the "sweet, sweet, manipulative, crafty" way :)
(thanks for the new link, no wonder the updates weren't coming through!)
Let me write that one down - buy... wife...iPod...when...in... trouble....
Got it. Thanks for the tip!
Hubs has good taste! Love the hot pink nano!
Hey Tia.. sometimes we don't give men enough credit (for their devious deeds). They're almost as smart as us these days.. almost!!
Love the color of your iPod, it matches with your fun personality. Have a great trip if I don't check-in before you leave..
I think I could be bought for that also! ;) hehe Have a great vacation!
I loved your "purse guts" post and I made one myself!
I also made sure to link back to your blog as well.
akilahsakai.blogspot.com
Enjoy the vacation & new iPod!
Just curious, how much does it cost to acquire a domain? I have always wanted to do it myself, but have no idea how to even start.
I could be bought off like this too. Clearly.
Bwah, you cheap slut, you!
Updated my link, btw. I'm your bitch.
Hubs is a smart man!
Wow! Eeyore is MY expression.
To my boyfriend, often: "Well, don't go all eeyore on me."
Etc.
I heart adopting new adjectives.
Great entry, Tia.
Sniff! I want an I-pod! Bearing that a really kool guy like your hubs or Bearing that a vacation like your going on.
Bearing that an sincere hope that you enjoy yourself and don't even think about your job back home.
Peace,
Clueuin
P.s If when on vacation any that asks you to touch their hair when you tell them your a hairstylist, just spray them with a plastic plant sprayer and tell them to go away. (People do that to my sister all the time whenever she mentions that she has a Beaticians' Liasence. They treat you guys like doctors. "Claudette, I have some spilt ends can you just take a look please...." Oh boy! [Eyes roll]) Enjoy your Vacky!
(Hmm, Vacky? I guess I've learned a new word. Thanks whoever wrote that!) c.u.i
Just stumbled upon your blog..I like
Hooray Hubs! Now you don't have to hear him either... :D
Would you two get out of here already???
Haha, just kidding, I'm gonna missssssssssssssssssss you!!!
Mwah!
Aye, I really want one of those too. Hopefully we start carrying them at work so I can just get the employee discount. How is it treating you?

I don't know, don't we always bribe our wives to keep us out of trouble? I know it works for my wife. Shiny things! Shiny things! God love her.
I wish I had a pink ipod.
Maybe tomorrow I'll tackle the Links page and Blogroll. I'll surely update your link :)
Lucky lucky girl!
And he picked the perfect color! Hot Pink!!
Have fun on vacay - and I've updated your link - and while you're at it - check mine out too!
http://missdaisydog.blogspot.com/
I'll update my roll right now :-)
have an AMAZING vacation!
and to be completely honest... i could be bought for less than 149-- LOL
Like your blog... and pretty sure that in another distant world, we could have been dangerous in a friendship wrought with US magazine info and 'make the world jealous' wit...
question: on given ipod, what is/will be the first "dance around the house in your underwear when no one is home" song to be played?
Embarrassingly enough I can be bought for free. True story.
Now while I honestly can't remember anymore what the BF and I were bickering about, he clearly was the one in the dog house and then to suck up he took me to... the dog house. Yes I have a 'thing' for puppies and kittens and even though he hates taking me anywhere near those places, we went to our local animal shelter and played with all the puppies and kitties for HOURS and I loved it! In the end I think he did too, just because I was so happy! :)
You've been on my blogroll ever since you were 'blog of note;! :P
Oooohhh... I think I would've swooned into my man's arms if he would've bought me that!! But wait, that requires a man..who's strong..and thoughtful.. and rich.......
Never mind.. dreams are fun, aren't they?? :D
Maybe if I made my husband read this post he would connect with your Hub's brilliance and get me an ipod too! I am about to have back surgery and will be doing a while lot of nothing...i think am ipod would really soothe my soul. Are you okay with my using your blog as a manipulation/ hinting device? hee hee
thanks for the fun post!
That's new nano! Your hubs is really cool I can tell! I can be bought really easy - I have no shame... LOL
haha this is great. I think you should let Hubs do a guest blog. I want to hear his side of the story. =)
This was so so cute! The boytoy and I get into similar dis-agreements as he termed them! I laugh because we are both relentlessly stubborn but thank you for sharing...have fun with the new iPod!
I LOVE your blog, you are one clever girl!!!
I have passed a wonderful award on to you.. please come on over and see!
If you are anything like MrsB, purchasing the new Ipod will have opened a whole can of worms for poor Hubs. It is my responsibility to make sure the music that MrsB would like to listen to is on her 4 Gig Ipod (she won't have anything bigger as she can't face the choice). I am never given a clue as to what Mrs B would like to hear so it's best guess. Since my music collection in now in excess of 60,000 tracks the headache is all mine. So good luck to Hubs, you know you can never win in the battle with the fairer sex . The best you can hope for is a close loss with honourable mentions.....
I want one of those..... Any tips on how to get one without trying for world domination?? ;O) I really like you´re blog.
Bah. My iPod also took a crap and I was going to get one for Christmas. But then I hit a car, so I got someone else a brand new bumper instead.
DAMNIT.
hi,
love ur blog, been reading quite awhile (sorry only now post a massage here).
smart hubby u have there...
enjoy the Ipod
u linked.
('',)
All women can be bought with stuff.
Fact.
Oh yeah Hub's is a smart and apparently sponsered up. Why to go dude, and I know you read her blog also.
A little insight. Yes listening takes up time but loading it and or setting it up does also. Then there is the other locations or "things" as we call them to add into the empty space. A few rubs yonder and then gratification! That is the way a pro, like hubs, cures the common commentator....
Hahaha, I think all men have a "survival instinct" that kicks in when they know they're either going to mess up, or have messed up. Hubs was really smart to buy you the iPod though, because hey, a girl can only go so long without one!
Ohhhh I really want one of those new ipods! Pink or purple!!! I went to the apple store yesterday and lusted after them but I can't afford right now :-(
Awesome post as always...need I keep reminding you :)
You really have a super amazing husband. Im hinting at the boyfriend for some new perfume..I might need some tips! :)
Have a fab vacation..or as we in Africa call it, holiday :)
