Spring has sprung.

Yes, it's that time of year again. Baby fawns cavorting through the meadows with their mothers, tiny fuzzy ducklings swimming in formation, rabbit mommies showing their bunny babies how to raid Ole Meanie Farmer's vegetable garden...

Oh. Wait. This isn't a Disney movie? Right. Sorry.

No, seriously. It's the time of year when everywhere you look, either someone is newly pregnant, hugely pregnant, is thinking about being pregnant, just had a baby, or might be having a baby as you speak.

For a not-so-newlywed who has attended two baby showers in the past two weekends, it's a time of answering increasingly pointed questions about when I plan to reproduce. Actually, the questions began the night of my wedding reception. Cuz you know, after that night I wouldn't be a virgin anymore.

Stop smirking.

Anywho, I can't deny that lately, with all of this baby stuff going on, I've felt some urges. But it was probably just gas. Right? Because Hubs and I have a plan! And the plan is to wait until after we go on our cruise in October. There's still stuff I want to do before I start peeing on $15 plastic sticks.

(Why are those things so expensive? I don't get it. You can buy a rabbit for less than that at a pet store and pee on it and it'll tell you if you're pregnant. Or something. Isn't that how they used to do it? I dunno. I know it had something to do with rabbits.)

One of my BFFest BFFs just found out she's pregnant. It's early still, but she's really excited. And I am excited also, because I figure I can live vicariously through her and right about the time she delivers, Hubs and I will start trying. Perfect timing. Thanks J Fooz!

(Right now she's kinda having morning sickness, though, and I just ate a big grilled cheese sandwich, so I'm glad I'm just vicariously experiencing her pregnancy, because I choose to think that vicariously loosely translates to "only the good stuff".)

As I've discussed, I love to buy things...and I'm kinda crazy...soooooo...I now have an entirely new category of things to buy!! Because clearly J Fooz is like a sister to me, and I will completely spoil her child. (Since it's kinda mine too, right? Vicariously?)

So I bought this: (and some other stuff, but J Fooz loves seahorses, and I figured it would go for either gender)

So cute. Seriously.

I can't wait until she finds out if it's a boy or a girl so I can get down to some serious purchasing.

What? I like to shop.

Plus, I need to practice. (Just the shopping part, not the no-drinking or eating-healthy part.)

I mean, vicariously only goes so far.

Awww what a cute little seahorse. I want you to get preggers (what the hell? I just said 'preggers.' Shoot me now.) because I imagine you'd have some really funny commentary. Also, your bloggy icon is hot, so you'd have hot children. See, I make smart deductions. Um, right. WOW I'm rambling. Um...Congrats to your friend!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my digs!

It IS prego season! Lots of girls I know right now are expecting... interesting. They must like springtime/summer sex!

Haha, it really is true that you can buy a rabbit cheaper than a pregnancy test, so weird.

And really, who doesn't love a cute baby. I am living vicariously through my best friend and her baby :)

LOL. I have gotten the exact same thing, even before the wedding people asking "so do you want a baby now?". WTF? I'm 24 years old! And we don't want kids, EVER! Giving up alcohol would be a truly tough part of pregnancy. No booze for 9 months?! Plus longer if you want to breast feed. That's just sad...:(

Are you sure it's Spring? It's snowing right now!

Eek! The womb tingling phrase is catching on!
My friends are very slow on the whole procreating thing. I'm still waiting to do that surrogate auntie thing for one who lives in the same city.
